6. We should not blame ourselves falsely.
7. A child who is unsecure is caused by always being compared to another sibling.
8. It is selfish to stay away from your sibling because he/she is better than you in some things.
9. We need to like and respect ourselves.
10. We need 1) belonging 2) value 3) achievement 4) self image
11. We can have twisted view of ourselves and not like ourselves.
12. We should not be jealous of others or compare ourselves to others.
13. We are made in God’s image.
14. We are all brand name products, God’s children.
15. We should accept ourselves and others as God’s children.
16. There is forgiveness when we have a new beginning.

18. We should not think the world is other’s responsibility. We need to take responsibility for the world.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for giving me the trip to China. It helped me recover from the recent sadness. I was able to be more like normal there. You have really blessed me there. You gave me opportunities to serve. I enjoyed the simple life there. Even though there are challenges and it seems so hard for people to know You. Even with the earthquake, it seems people are still turning to themselves and what they can do. When can people’s heart be changed so they can know You? How can they know You if they don’t hear? I feel powerless to see so many people don’t know You. Yet, I saw glimmers of light in the darkness, such as when a few street strollers decided to go inside the church for a curiosity visit. Help me to keep my eyes on You while darkness is around me. May I understand more and more how may You want to use me.

Dear Mike,
I am so glad that God heal you through this trip. Your observation is valuable and that will influence your future I think. Well, may God guide you and with you everywhere. I will pray for you.

Love!

Your Pastor

Dear Heavenly Father,

This is the first mission trip after my brother’s going to be with You. I’m learning that the things in the world that really matters have to do with the eternal things. What we do here on earth is for the eternal glory that we will see when Jesus returns. Therefore, I will not be discouraged by my brother’s death or anything. What really matters is not the temporary things of this world, but the things that will glorify You. Thank You for taking care of me and my parents during this time. Thank You for how You will use this thing to glorify Your name. Your purpose is always good. You are full of love and compassion.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for all the prayers being lifted up for me and my family. Thank You for lifting the burden from my heart with these prayers. Thank You for giving me good thoughts to think about my brother in Your glory. I pray I may be strengthened by this experience to be stronger in my faith. I pray next week’s mission trip will be very fruitful for us and the church. Help us all to be used by You on this trip. Not by our might or by our power, but by Your Holy Spirit. Thank You Lord for all You are going to do through the mission trips this year. Keep us healthy and sustain us.

Dear Heavenly Father,

I want to commemorate my brother again in this journal. Lord, I remember during the 2005 Taiwan mission trip, my brother and I went to visit the church’s neighbors during free time. It was evening, and we thought we would reach out to the neighbors around the church. It was the August Moon Festival. The neighbors were celebrating with their friends. They saw us and invited us to join them. We went and talked with them. They offered us food and drink. I escaped the drinking by saying I want to go back to get something. But, my brother stayed there with them. I know he doesn’t drink, but he tried to be polite to them. When we walked back, he was a little dizzy and his face was red from the drink. Yet, from the smile on his face, I knew he gladly “suffered” for the sake of the gospel. He just wants to reach out to these people who don’t know Jesus.

Lord, I pray that You will continue to give me a heart for lost people. The world needs Jesus. Help me to align my life to You so I can do the work You called me to do.

Pastor’s response:
Dear Lord, pls. help your kid Mike. He do really need your blessing. Help him out from the circle that he was. He need align his priority. Yes, he has the heart to You. No Doubt! But some times the life is not easy, even though that is simple. Lord, pls. help! I can understand Mike’s feeling, struggling, and frustrating! I think all the things happen, only because of You! Amen? I trust so. If that case, pls. help him just trust you! look upon to You only! That’s only hope! I would like give Mike some suggests like.

Mike, here you go:
1, Focus Jesus in everything in you life. That mean try to use Jesus Heart to apply your life. Whatever you do, you think, you speak, try to ask Jesus first, or after that, do some evaluations for yourself.
2, Set up a priority of your life. I know, that is not easy. But at least you can try, you can train, you can do, even you can cry…… That is life.
3, step by step, don’t rush, slowly is better than stand there. Start from first step. Don’t ask what you will do. Trust Him that He will guide your feet.

Lord, what do you think? Please send Your Spirit for guiding him who you love. Give him get a good sleeping, good food, good environment.

Amen!

Your servant Paul Wang

Dear Heavenly Father,

Today is the 1 month anniversary of my brother going to be with You. A sailboat gift someone gave him said, “The Will of God will never lead you where the Grace of God can not keep you”. Lord, thank You for all You’ve done in his life. One person gave a testimony at his memorial that whenever my brother meets a person who is not a Christian he would write their name down to pray for them. The last they know, he had more than 100 people on his prayer list. Another person said he truly prays like a servant. Lord, I know all these things come from you, everything that happened in his life. May You credit to him all that will happen as the result of his service on earth. May the love that You poured into his life continue to impact many people. I also pray for those on his prayer list that they may be saved. May You help me start this habit also. Everything from You is Your grace. Sometimes we don’t want some of these things You give to us. But, thank You we can trust that You are good and your love endures forever.

Help me to be healed, strengthened, and encouraged by Your grace. As You told Joshua after Moses’ death, “Moses my servant is dead, now be strong and courageous”. Now, may You transform my life that I may be strong and courageous in You. The only things that last are the things we do for You. May I be more like Christ, to take up my cross and follow Him.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for bringing me back to Dallas. I’ve received so much support and love since being back. Thank You for all the brothers and sisters and their help. May You bless us and let us continue to love each other. May Your name be glorified through all these things. May You show us how great You are. Guide us and lead us and shelter us under Your wings. Let me be strong after my brother’s death. Let me face everything with faith and confidence in You. May I be Your faithful servant in all these things.

Dear Heavenly Father,

It has been 10 days since my brother passed away. Each day last week has been like a year. I thank you that you’ve been giving us your words from Psalm 22-31 for each of the day. Thank You for giving us Your words to comfort, strengthen, and guide us. May we carry on my brother’s passion in life to do the work of evangelism. May You bless so many people through his life and death that there will be so many testimonies we can share in the future. Our happiest day was when we know Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. From that day on, we can rejoice everyday no matter what happens. I know he is rejoicing with You right now. May I not miss a moment of this life to do the work You have given to me.
All for Christ!

Dear Heavenly Father,

I can’t believe Easter is coming up. This Easter Sunday will be 13 years since I was baptized. How You have blessed me and guided me all these years! I should be an adolescent now in spiritual years. I should be able to spiritually discern right from wrong and be able to handle the mature things of faith. Thank You for keeping me faithful all these years. Help me continue to walk in love, faith, and hope. As today’s verse says: “I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name”. (Rev. 3:8) May my life reflect more of the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Thank You for the wonderful opportunities to study Your word, to serve in missons, and have work to do. May I have a wonderful Easter and be renewed in my love for Christ, to be reminded of His death for my sins, and be strengthened by His resurrection from the dead.
